Water Hyacinth - Sold in Store Only
Water Hyacinth has glossy bulb-like leaves that helps to provide shade and the roots provide filtration, a spawning area for the pond fish, and help consume some of the excess nutrients from the water, helping to reduce algae. This plant does bloom throughout the season with the flowers lasting one day. Because the Water Hyacinth has a tropical nature, it will require heat and full sun to thrive and flower. This plant can reach heights of 6-12". A vigorous reproducer, it can quickly take over the water garden. Remove excess plants to help prevent this from happening. Water Hyacinths are considered invasive so do not introduce to any natural waterways. Throw away if thinning out.
